When many of us leave college, we think we are ready to take on the world. After spending thousands of dollars on college, we think we are totally ready for the workforce and to show the world that we can do anything. Usually, what we envision is totally different from what actually happens. We start out in an entry level job where we have the knowledge to do our jobs, but not the other information we need to survive in corporate America. In the end, we feel stuck, wondering how we are going to survive on pay that was much lower than planned and in what is sometimes a hostile working environment. While college provides an academic background, they don’t give us the knowledge and wisdom we need about the corporate world to survive. Luckily, there is a way to get this information and help you secure your first major raise during your first year of employment – Rank Up!
So, what is Rank Up? It is an awesome self coaching program that helps you start growing your career from the moment you start your first job. While most programs are meant to be listened to once and move on, Rank Up is designed to be useful for all the stages of your career, helping you become as successful as possible.
One of the other perks about Rank UP is that you get lifetime access to Society Core. I would have loved something like this when I started my first professional job. I had no clue what to do when I worked at a bank.

I was lucky that I had several jobs in my career where leadership development was part and parcel of my job. As executives we were expected to model good leadership and received training and professional coaching to make sure we were on track. However, so many companies don’t have the resources or don’t recognize that leadership is something learned, not an innate skill. This is a great tool for anyone who does not have the in-house support!

I think the most valuable feature is the personal coaching for an individual situation. My mother is a recruiter so I always knew what I was doing and, if I got an interview, was always offered a job. The real problem was when I found myself in an unusual situation where I was kissed in the office by a married co-worker. I was out of my depth and the advice my mother gave made things worse. If I had 3rd party coaching, I think it would have made a real difference in the outcome.
