While I enjoy owning a house, maintenance is one of those things that can get scary fast. Our house really isn’t that old, but it is hitting the point where it is starting to have maintenance issues for the first time. When these issues happen, my husband and are frantically going to the internet or calling his Dad, trying to figure out what is going on and if it is even something we can fix ourselves. Since we may be having to consider moving soon due to a potential new job, we are looking for needed maintenance issues and what we need to do to possibly sell our house. To our surprise, we were approached to review a brand new book that sounded perfect for us – The Home Book: A Complete Guide to Homeowner and Homebuilder Responsibilities.

The Home Book: Overall
Having been a home owner for a few years now, I have to say that this book is a great guide to making sure you are taking care of the daily maintenance of your home, and how to take care of a major repair. While there aren’t a great deal of pictures in the book itself, it gives you a quick description on what you need to know about the said repair, severity, and if you need to consider getting a contractor. As two fairly young homeowners, I consider this a must guide for anyone who is purchasing a brand new home or wanting to make sure their home building experience is positive. I need that book. We have an older house and there’s always something that needs to be done. Luckily, my husband can do all of the heating, air, wiring etc. That saves us quite a bit of money.
