Have you ever been curious about herbal remedies? I have always been a person who believed there is a place for modern, industrial medicine and herbal medicine. While it is some of the earliest medicine, it is still used since some of it does work. Like all things, knowledge is important to make sure you don’t do more harm than good, and knowing when is the right time and place for natural remedies. As someone who loves living a natural lifestyle, I was intrigued by the idea of my making my own herbal remedies to treat common day family issues that are a bit too minor for seeing the doctor. Luckily, I recently had the opportunity to review a new book that seemed perfect for my news – The Herbal Handbook for Homesteaders: Farmed and Foraged Herbal Remedies and Recipes by Abby Artemisia.

The Herbal Handbook For Homesteaders: Our Thoughts
As someone new to herbal remedies, I was very excited to dig into this book when it arrived. For someone new to making your own herbal remedies, I have to say this book is one of the most comprehensive I have seen to date. Not only is it user-friendly by being well organized, but very down to Earth, allowing everyone to experiment without putting anyone in danger. One of my favorite section has to be the one on pets, having a very user-friendly insect repellent and flea wash. While our girls are on medication to prevent fleas, they kill fleas once they bite the girls. These recipes give us something new in our pet care arsenal that is very excited to me. There are also so many amazing remedies for pain management, allergy relief, and so much more. Honestly, after reading The Herbal Handbook for Homesteaders: Farmed and Foraged Herbal Remedies and Recipes, I can’t wait to start making my own herbal remedies and recommend it to anyone wanting to start their own journey at home.
