Do you use organic gardening techniques in your own garden? I will freely admit, it is something that is still fairly new to me. While I have had plants around me most of my life, my mom always bought whatever soil was cheapest for the plants inside. Since most of our plants weren’t edible, she didn’t really view it as being necessary. On the other hand, I have always been more drawn to edible plants and prefer growing things like herbs and fruit trees – something my husband grew up with and encouraged. This year though, I signed up for an organic seed subscription box and can’t wait to get gardening. To help me through the process, I decided I need to learn more about organic gardening. Luckily, the perfect book arrived to help teach me – Organic Gardening Techniques: Expert Advice on Planting, Growing, and Caring for Your Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs. Once the book arrived, I couldn’t wait to start reading!

Organic Gardening Techniques: Our Thoughts
As someone who knows just enough about gardening to be dangerous, I was honestly blown away by this book. While we have been trying organic gardening with our fruit trees especially, I learned about some important things involving pruning and trimming our trees that I had never read anywhere else. Maybe it is common knowledge, but I had never read about some of the techniques for shaping them. I am just thankful letting them go wild hasn’t hurt any of our cherry trees. I also feel quite confident about growing organically now with all the fantastic advice in this book, enabling me to better grow things in pots, in a raised bed garden, or even the traditional ways in the ground. Gardening organically just seems so…easy after reading this book! If you are interesting in growing your own food, I highly recommend trying out Organic Gardening Techniques: Expert Advice on Planting, Growing, and Caring for Your Fruits, Vegetables, and Herbs.

I was always interested in anything organically grown. I”d like to have a garden if/when I move! It would be for organic gardening and this book would be a big help! I’ve planted a few things in friends’ yards, and everything disappears by critters.
