Do you practice, or want to practice, meditation? Personally, I am hoping to try learning to meditate, having heard how helpful it has been for others in my life. As someone with an anxiety disorder, I am hoping that it will help me. One of the techniques that has really got my attention lately is mindfulness meditation. This technique is meant to help you restore balance to your personal life and get rid of negative feelings, distractions, and judgmental thoughts. When Wiley books asked me if I would like to review their Mindfulness Workbook for Dummies, I was pretty excited! Once my free book came in the mail, I couldn't wait to start going through this book!

Mindfulness Workbook for Dummies: Quality & Usefulness
I'll be the first to admit that I was very confused when I first started this book. While I knew this was a workbook, I hoped I would be learning a bit more about mindfulness. Since I didn't have access to the Mindfulness for Dummies book, I had to work with what I had. Luckily, many of the exercises in the book are easy to understand and have step by step instructions. Even if you don't follow this way of thinking, the exercises are perfect for anyone who is trying to meditate. I'll admit, I really like many of these exercises and look forward to trying them myself. Some of them I think will work very well with technique I learned in yoga, making this book a perfect addition to my collection. I'm just hoping at some point I can get the primary book that goes alongside this one to better understand Mindfulness.
Mindfulness Workbook for Dummies: Overall
From what I have seen going through this book, Mindfulness Workbook for Dummies seems like a wonderful companion book to Mindfulness for Dummies. As someone who knew nothing about mindful before this review, I was a bit lost at first but was still able to enjoy many of the exercises. If you are planning on purchasing Mindfulness for Dummies, I highly recommend this book and give it an A- rating! While I wish it went into a bit more explanation in the beginning, it is still a great book!

This could help a lot of people. I know that they use techniques like this in "anger management" and it seems that a lot of people need that advice nowadays. People need simple, easy-to-follow instructions on centering themselves and releasing anxiety, this book looks like it might achieve that!

It would be great if they had a chapter on falling asleep. I have such a awfull time! I have tried mediation to bring down my heartbeat, it works and then sometimes helps me fall asleep.
