With fall right around the corner, it is the perfect time to find a good book and spend some time reading outdoors. I personally love nothing more than going to a nice sunny spot under a tree and spend the afternoon reading. Being someone who loves a variety of books, I was excited when a brand new book arrived in the mail for my reading list – Jex Malone! After reading a bit on Amazon about this female detective I couldn’t wait to get started!

Looking for a fun book for young adults to read, with a strong female protagonist? If so, we think you will love Jex Malone. This fun books features Jessica “Jex” Malone, a seventeen year old girl who sent to live with her detective father in Las Vegas for the summer. With her father constantly working, she is bored out of her mind, until she finds like-minded friends who love to snoop around too, creating the “Drew-ids.”While looking into her father’s cold cases, they across the case of Patty Matthews and the girls are determined to solve the case! With someone determined to prevent the truth from being known, will these wannabe detectives find out what happened to Patty or disappear themselves?
Jex Malone: Overall
Personally, I thought this was a very entertaining book. Think more of a modern day Nancy Drew so to speak. The difference is that I thought the characters were much more relatable to readers and do act quite a bit like teenagers. Sure, it has its points where it seems a bit stereotypical of teenage dramas, but overall, I thought the plot was strong and the book itself told a very good story. After reading the book I would not mind reading something else at some point in the series. Really, it is a perfect book for any girl who likes strong female protagonists and mysteries! Based on my own experience of the book, I am happy to give Jax Malone an A rating.
