Do you prefer to feed natural dog treats during dog training? With two young dogs in our household, we are constantly going through dog treats, making it important that the food that is involved in training isn’t just healthy, but tasty. As well, it has to be safe for Ivi’s turkey allergy, making finding treats sometimes a bit challenging, while Rylie loves just about any type of food. For training, I prefer my dogs to have smaller treats as well, since our training can last anywhere from 5 – 15 minutes, making it important that we have yummy treats available that aren’t too large but big enough that it gets both Ivi and Rylie excited. Luckily, one of our favorite brands of food has a variety of tasty treats perfect for dogs of all sizes – Honest Kitchen! While we have fed Honest Kitchen for years, I was excited when I learned that they had new treats in their dog cookie line, which we were eager to try when they arrived!
Honest Kitchen Nuzzles Treats
Looking for a low calorie training treat that is perfect for pups of all sizes? If so, we think you will love Honest Kitchen’s Nuzzles Treats. These heart shaped treats are made from all natural duck, cherry, and virgin coconut oil, making them a truly yummy wheat free treat for dogs. In our household, both girls absolutely love these duck treats, making them a fantastic treat for reinforcing behaviors that we want to encourage in our household (or just making sure we don’t forget important commands). Currently, you can buy the Honest Kitchen Nuzzles treats on the Honest Kitchen website in one of two sizes – $8.99 for the 8 oz box or $13.99 for the 16 oz box.
Honest Kitchen Pecks Treats
Do you want to make training as delicious as possible for dogs? If so, we think you will love Honest Kitchen’s Pecks treats. These bite sized, low calorie beef and blueberry treats are hand-baked, making them not only yummy for dogs, but great for training dogs of all sizes. When it comes to training, these have become an easy go-to treat due to their small size, especially for Rylie. With her still being a puppy, smaller treats are always a great choice, and it helps that she absolutely loves beef treats. Currently, you can buy the Honest Kitchen Pecks treats on the Honest Kitchen website in one of two sizes – $8.99 for the 8 oz box or $13.99 for the 16 oz box.
Honest Kitchen Smooches Treats
When it comes to Honest Kitchen treats, Smooches have been one of our favorite treats for years. I don’t know what is but there is just something adorable about these cute heart shaped treats that makes doggy snack time even better. For those who don’t know these treats, Honest Kitchen Smooches are heart shaped, all natural treats made free ranged chicken and juicy cranberries. I won’t lie, these treats have a special place in our household since they were one of Reya’s most favorite treats. Today, Ivi loves them just as much, but will sometimes reluctantly share with the puppy during training. Currently, you can purchase Honest Kitchen Smooches on the Honest Kitchen website in one of two sizes – $8.99 for the 8 oz box or $13.99 for the 16 oz box.

I’ve used Honest Kitchen products before and my dogs like them (although truth be told, they like almost all treats!). If training, I would still break these into even smaller pieces so I’m not giving them too much.

My dogs get tired of the same old treats. I think they would love these. They are quite expensive though.

I can relate to wanting to purchase healthy treats for my 2 dog babies. Neither one is a pup , but with wanting to give them something interesting between meals I love having choices close by.. They look forward to something special after having been outside, or just playing “catch” inside. I could see them both loving these H.K.’s variety!

What beautiful furry family members! And they have patience too (i.e. the three bags all around them, not minding taking shots before tearing the bags open). 😉
Great shots too. Love the pic with the heart in frotn of the warm nose. 🙂 This is a trusting brand and I haven’t gotten them in a long time so would be all up for trying them out again.
