Do you have a smart tv or media computer? In our household, we actually have a devoted media computer hooked up to our TV for watching movies, anime, gaming, and just about anything we like online. The problem with having a computer that can do everything – help us watch TV, movies, and everything else, is that it doesn’t play nice with everything else, especially since we have to bounce between remotes, a mouse, and our old wireless keyboard that doesn’t want to work half the time. It’s one of the reason we actually don’t use the internet part of our Smart tv, it’s just too hard to use with the remote. From the moment this keyboard came out of its package we were impressed. All we had to do to start using it was plug in the tiny USB receiver that came with it – Windows installed the proper drivers on its own, and we were using it in seconds. While it didn’t come with a full charge in the battery (nothing to fault Esky for) we hooked it up without charging and used it for two-three hours while we were catching up on one of our favorite shows, we’ve since left it on for 8-10 while we were bouncing between living room and kitchen without trouble. The remote itself was simple and intuitive to use – it is very lightweight and fits in our hands about as well as a game controller; the plastic backing is lightly textured for grip and very comfortable in the hands. Based on our excellent experience, we are happy to give the Esky Mini Wireless Entertainment Keyboard with Touchpad an A+ rating!

  3. I have one of those ity bity keyboard and track pad devices. Its about the size of a small remote control for a tv. I get so frustrated that I want to throw it across the room. Its downright freaky as far as using it. The track pad is so sensitive that I never know where the mouse is or what I have inadvertently clicked on. The letters are smaller buttons than whats on a cell phone and for a guy thats all thumbs its hopeless. I need to win this!

    • Yes, it is so much better than the little ones that were out years ago. We had one and threw it in the garbage after a month. It was horrible! This one is absolutely awesome and worked for us right out of the box.

  4. When we are searching on Netflix or youtube it is a pain to use the Apple TV or other device. My hubby would be able to do his own searching .. It would be a lot easier for me too.

  10. I tried one of these a few years back (a Cideko) and the “air mouse” was horrible. It didn’t matter where you aimed it, the on-screen cursor shook like an earthquake.
    Would be interesting to try another brand and see if this problem has been solved.

  11. This keyboard sounds like a great way to make my Playstation much easier to use and much more functional. I love how this is wireless and doesn’t add yet another cord to my living room!

  13. I also had one of those that were the size of a tv/cable/satellite universal remotes, and the touchpad didn’t even work! The keyboad worked just fine, but the layout was that of a normal-sized keyboard, but the buttons considerably smaller. Not a very comfortable design for something that small.

    Now THIS, however, looks like they got the keyboard layout about right. The whole unit is handheld-sized, so you’d be more comfortable hold it between both hands and typing with your thumbs (my other one was probably about this same size, but had a normal keyboard layout, as if you were going to use it on your desk). My only problem with it MIGHT be where the touchpad is, but I can see where it might grow on me, depending on where it ends up getting used.

    Hopefully I can get one to find out, huh? 😉

  14. This would be great for my daughter. It’s so frustrating watching her try to “type” on her PS4. Seriously, type it wrong – delete delete – type it wrong again. lol

  16. My vision isn’t as good as it used to be. trying to check emails and other stuff on this tiny little laptop just kills my eyes and gives me a bad headache. I’d like to win this so I could hook it up to my TV and that way I would have a 40″ monitor so to speak. Maybe then it wouldn’t make my darn head hurt.
