Do you have any single piece of technology that you absolutely hate in your household? For me, it is my car radio. I have the original one that came in my Honda Accord and have been meaning to replace it for years. Before I had my Accord, I had a wonderful sound system in my previous car – in all honesty, the sound system was probably worth more than the entire car, but I was proud of it! Long story short, I was spoiled with having a nice radio that could play MP3s, and ever since I’ve been constantly trying to make up for it by buying nice FM transmitters for my car so I could listen to music through my iPhone. Well, to make matters worse, most of these transmitters weren’t worth the money and I can tell you we have spent over $200 in the past 5 years on these darn things. I was personally tired of it and determined to find one that actually worked – especially since my husband has been laughing at it, with his Jetta having a perfectly functional tape deck and $10 adapter that has worked for years. Having tried quite a few FM transmitters before this review, I didn’t have very high expectations. Most transmitters all work similarly and have the same issues. They seem great near our house but once you start driving, they have problems staying on a station in cities, and get interference when you go by another vehicle using one. For people who travel as much as us, this is a major distraction and makes it almost not worth using a transmitter at all depending on where we are headed. Once I took the Mpow Streambot Y Wireless Bluetooth FM Transmitter out of the box, however, I was surprised with its design. It was flexible and really designed to be easy to use and stay out of the way. Even the USB port was something you could easily manipulate while driving if you have to switch devices. The best part, however, was the music. We had crisp, clear, beautiful music when we were driving through mountainous areas with little to no reception. It was so amazing to both my husband and myself since we had never had a transmitter that broadcast so clearly. The big surprise, though, came in Louisville, where we normally turn off our music due to interference – but it still played beautifully, only needing to be adjusted once! Really, we couldn’t have asked for better, making it easily the best transmitter we have ever owned. Based on our own experience with this transmitter, we are delighted to give the Mpow Streambot Y Wireless Bluetooth FM Transmitter an A+ rating.
