Apple Chai Bread Recipe

Ingredients

1 diced apple, equivalent to about 1 cup

1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed

1/3 cup butter, softened

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup strong-brewed chai tea

1/2 cup vanilla instant pudding, prepared according to the package directions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Add the diced apple and brown sugar to a small mixing bowl and stir until the apples are fully coated. Set aside.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon to a separate mixing bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined. Set aside.
  4. Add the softened butter and egg to the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until combined.
  5. With the mixer set on low speed, slowly add the dry ingredients and the chai tea and continue to mix until the batter is smooth.
  6. Add the pudding to the mixing bowl and beat until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  7. Add the apple mixture to the mixing bowl and fold it into the batter using a rubber spatula.
  8. Pour the batter into an 8×4-inch bread pan lined with parchment paper, and smooth the top using a rubber spatula.
  9. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
