Are you looking for a delicious peach chicken recipe? With summer cookouts and picnics in full swing, many of us are trying to find yummy recipes featuring some of our favorite summer foods. While I usually am not a big cookout, I enjoy yummy in-season fruits and vegetables at these gatherings. Of course, with peach season being here, everyone wants some juicy Georgia Peaches. With the Peach Truck being so expensive this year, we were putting off purchasing peaches until we found some great deals. Luckily, Kroger decided to compete this year with their 12-pound box of Georgia peaches for half the price. I mean, who can pass up half-price Georgia peaches? Not me!
With over 32 pounds of peaches in my fridge, I am prepping to make preserves and some of my husband’s favorite peach recipes. While making peach bread (technically a pear recipe) and cobbler (available in my favorite summer cookbook), I am also trying to plan more savory and meaty dishes, especially since we are preparing for family visiting from out of town. To my delight, a friend introduced us to a delicious peach chicken recipe – Whisky Peach Chicken.
I will admit that I wasn’t so sure about this recipe at first. I am not a whiskey drinker, and we keep it around only for guests (our supply was from a bachelor party years ago). To my delight, this peach chicken recipe was not only delicious but also uses peach preserve, allowing you to use storebought or your own homemade. While their recipe uses chicken drumsticks, I have also found it works great with chicken breasts.
Would you like to try this delicious peach chicken recipe yourself? Well, my friend permitted us to share their family recipe! Everything you need to create their Whiskey Peach Chicken recipe is provided below. While it takes some time to cook, it is worth it!

Notes
- Need ideas for the perfect sides? This yummy peach chicken recipe goes great with green beans or seasoned potatoes.
- Not sure which BBQ sauce to use? This is a personal taste. I used a honey BBQ sauce I had opened in the fridge.
- To avoid messes, use a large cast iron skillet with high sides and place a cookie sheet under said skillet to get any possible drippings.
