Are you someone who has considered creating a bird-friendly yard or garden? As someone who loves nature, I love waking up and birdwatching with coffee. While we live in a suburb, we have a variety of gorgeous birds that call our yard home. I especially love watching our pair of doves that recently moved into one of our trees over the last few months.
Part of what attracts them to our yard is our small stream and our fruiting trees and bushes. I have always felt that nature and humans can live alongside one another in gardening; it just means you sometimes have to give more attractive targets than your garden. With Spring truly around the corner, I have been considering what I can do with my garden and ensuring my birds are cared for when it comes time to fill their nests.
Recently, I had the opportunity to read a book that seemed perfect for my own needs – Bird-Friendly Gardening: Guidance and Projects for Supporting Birds in Your Landscape by Jen McGuinness. Once my complimentary copy arrived, I couldn’t wait to share this book!
