Are you looking for a fantastic strawberry peanut butter dog treats recipe? Like many people, I am looking forward to strawberry season. Everyone in our household loves strawberries, and while I love to bake with them, I also have canine thieves. Rylie especially will scout the kitchen, hoping for a chance to steal one of her most beloved fruits. Many local farms around here also sell strawberries pretty cheap in large containers, making them my go two fruits during the summer.
With today’s high grocery prices, I cannot bring myself to let any fruit go to waste; the extra pieces that may not be so ‘pretty’ I love turning into dog treats for the girls. Lately, we have been on a kick of making our treat using the dehydrator function of our air fryer. I was even more amazed when one of my blogging friends told me about dehydrating strawberries and covering them with peanut butter powder. As you could guess, these strawberry peanut butter dog treats were a major hit with the girls!
I also found that the recipe works great with other nut butters. For example, I only use peanut butter powder if Daniel is cooking. While I can be careful, I usually try being on the safe side with my peanut allergy. From our own experience, the recipe works great with both traditional peanut butter powder and almond butter powder. Both are relatively cheap options, making them great for making treats in bulk for the girls.

PrintStrawberry Peanut Butter Dog Treats
An easy-to-make dog treat that takes only two ingredients. These dehydrated strawberry pieces are a hit with dogs and can use a variety of different powdered nut butters.
- Prep Time: 10 Minutes
- Dehydration Time: 8 Hours
- Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes
Instructions
Step 1: Wash strawberries and make sure they are as clean as possible. Once you have shaken off any excess water, cut off the tops and slice them into 1/8 inch slices.
Step 2: Fill a bowl with the desired amount of peanut butter powder. Dip each side of the slice in the powder. Place each covered slice on your dehydrator tray, making sure they are not touching one another.
Step 3: Place the tray in your dehydrator, and set your dehydrator to 130 F for 8 hours.
Step 4: Place the trays on the dehydrator and put the lid on. Select 130 degrees F and 8 hours. Add extra time if your pieces are not dehydrated after that time (the size of strawberries can change dehydration times). Make sure completely cool before storing.
Notes
If your air fryer doesn’t have a dehydration function, this dehydrator is another good option!
