Are you a new homeowner and considering homesteading? When many of us think of homesteading, we think of a mini-farm or people focused on prepping for some form of disaster. In actuality, it is just people wanting to be more self-sustainable by growing their fruits, vegetables, and herbs to help save money or give themselves more variety. For example, I have a hard time finding some herbs for making international dishes, so I love growing my herbs and sometimes unique vegetables (like Thai Eggplant, for example). Many people don’t realize homesteading (or gardening) can happen in any size yard! Wanting to learn a bit more myself, I was excited when I got an opportunity to read a new gardening book – The Modern Homestead Garden: Growing Self-Sufficiency in Any Size Backyard.
