Do you have a pet that loves to play with laser toys? In our household, these toys are a big deal. Even though the puppy is here to tire her out, Reya sometimes would prefer flopping on her favorite spot by the front door and cuddling with her new dragons rather than playing with interactive toys. Believe me, she will go through a puzzle toy in less than five minutes so she can go back to lounging around. One of her favorite toys of all time was when we were taking the temperature of some of our dragon tanks with an infrared thermometer, with a laser pointer guide: we accidentally learned that Reya loved to chase lasers, so much so that she would happily race throughout the house to catch the laser. We have even seen her nose laser pens in hopes we will give her something to chase, especially on rainy days.
While we were at BlogPaws, Reya actually got to see a small version of a laser toy designed for cats, which made her go wild (it may have made her Mom panic a bit, especially since she nearly took down a table to get to it!). Luckily, she stopped herself before that happened and happily watched the toy move about. When they saw how much she loved it, PetSafe said that Reya had to try the Frolicat Dart Duo. Once the toy arrived, I couldn’t wait for Ivi and her to play with this new toy!

Frolicat Dart Duo: Overall
From the moment I turned on this toy, my girls were hooked. Reya was bouncing all over the room in pure excitement, trying to catch the laser. While Ivi wasn’t too sure about it at first, she soon joined in and tried pouncing the laser that wasn’t taking Reya’s full attention. After awhile though, she moved to the floor and just started trying to catch the laser with her paws (lazy puppy!). In the end though, this toy was about a half hour of pure cuteness before the girls went to doing something else. Since this was actually right about the time it was set to turn off, this seemed like perfect timing for this toy. I will say I did change the speed a few times just to see which setting the girls like the best. After about two days of play, I have to say I am in love with the Frolicat Dart Duo – nearly as much as our pups – and can’t wait to see how it is with my mother in law’s cats. Based on our own experience, I am happy to give the Frolicat Dart Duo an A+ rating and highly recommend it to our readers!

This looks like a fun toy that my pets would enjoy! I have several fur kids and it would keep them entertained.

This looks like a great toy! I volunteer at a cat shelter, and I know some of the other volunteers will bring in laser toys to play with the cats, and they love it! I’ll have to see about maybe getting one for the cat shelter for their kitties to play with!
I have seem these before and I considered buying one for my crazy bunch of cats. My youngest cat Clementine is obsessed with the laser light and will chase it until she is panting. I know she would love this.
My youngest cat would just love this. We had an office laser pointer that she played with but we as humans broke it and haven’t replaced it. She misses it so much.
my youngest would go wild over this, she is a toy fanatic. this is one toy she could not destroy hopefully. my oldest would love this too but too much for her at 14 yrs old. the baby now 5 would love it though.
I know what you mean about the lasers for entertaining pets! I bought one of these laser toys for my cats, and they loved it! But, after a couple of months, they ended up sitting in one place, watching the laser! Not playing, or chasing….watching!!! LOL
We have a new kitten that loves to get into everything. I think she would just absolutely love chasing this around and burning up some energy.

I really don’t know what’s up with my Bishon. He doesn’t play. He’s a strange dog. I have bought all kinds of toys and he doesn’t like them. He doesn’t chew on bones or anything. My other dogs and my cat were all very playful from day one but Miylo has never been. This would have been great for any of my other animals but definitely not this one. He is just strange–but we love him.

That is such a cool toy! My cat loves laser toys but I had not seen this one. It is a great way to have him get exercise as well since he’s become a bit of a couch potato in his old age.
You have beautiful girls. When I was younger I had a girl husky, she was super sweet. People would be afraid of her but once inside they saw what a doll she was.
Now I have two pugs, dad and daughter. Lola is seven months old and boy does she have energy. We feel bad for Lucas he will want to lay down and rest and she is biting and jumping on him, he can’t hide from her. I tried to give her chew toys and dental chew stick to keep her entertain. Lucas takes advantage of this and hides from her but then she finds him and he is running away from her.
I so need this for them. Especially for Lola I am sure once I turn it on Lucas will want to join in on the fun. Thanks for showcasing it I had never heard of it before.
You really need to send me pictures of your babies! While I have big girls now, I LOVE pugs! I used to babysit a pair that lived next my mother when I was in college. They are such goofballs and sweeties!
I can see it already! I have two Jack Russell’s and they always have ton’s of energy. I can just picture them now in my mind how much fun they would have playing with this and burning off some of their energy.
I NEED this…or shall I say my cat NEEDS this! If he hears you even move his laser, he will pester you until you “play laser” with him for at least 5 minutes. It becomes a huge pain when you’re trying to make dinner and someone has left his laser on the counter and you move it to make room for cooking! Haha!
This would be great for our cats. Two of the three really love chasing lasers but I don’t always have time to shine one for them. My sweet, deaf hound girl, Ran, who I lost four months ago, was a lover of the light, too, and would have gone nuts for this.
We have three dogs that would have so much fun with this. I think some of our parrots would love it too.

I really do like this, but I thought laser wasn’t good for anyone or animals or it is just not to point in the eyes , will have to check but I wouldn’t mind having something like this for the cats 🙂 I know they would love this.
Yeah, you just never want to point lasers in human or animal eyes. They are 100% safe for play. 🙂
