Do you worry about how much water your pet drinks daily? Even if we have water available to Reya throughout the day, she sometimes doesn’t drink what is recommended for her size. Sometimes I even have to add a drop of chicken broth just to make her consider drinking. I was really getting worried until I realized that our dog LOVES running water. It doesn’t matter if it’s from the hose or the tub, this is her favorite. While this was all well and good, we don’t want to leave either of these running without supervision (never mind what it would do to our water bill)! Luckily, we found the perfect solution – the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain from Petsafe!
Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain: What Is It?
Looking for a way to motivate your pets to drink more water? If so, we think you will love the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain from Petsafe. This porcelain fountain continuously recirculates up to 70 ounces of fresh, filtered water. Not only does it filter normal tap water, but offers your pet an upper and lower drinking dish, allowing them to choose which drinking surface fits their current mood. As well, the dual free flowing streams helps keep water moving and more hygenic, making sure that even your pet’s own messes are cleaned up before the water recirculates into the filter. With its quiet pump and easy to clean design, this Drinkwell fountain is the perfect addition to any pet friendly household!
Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain: Overall
In all honesty, I couldn’t wait to open this fountain when it arrived. Not only would it solve Reya’s ‘drinking problem’ but would also give her access to consistently fresh, filtered water! Before you give me that look like I’m crazy for giving my dog purified water, look in your dog’s water dish. If it’s anything like our dog’s if we don’t change it for a couple hours, it is probably very gross, with dog-added food particles, hair, and saliva. With this fountain, your pet’s water is always clean and constantly moving, encouraging your dog to drink water that you know is clean. Best of all, the filters are fairly cheap and easy to change – a big plus in my eyes!
What also really impressed me with the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain was the fact that it isn’t very loud. It is actually a bit on the quiet side. All you hear is the faint sound of running water. It isn’t like some of the human fountains out there that have very loud, annoying motors, so you don’t have to worry about your dog or cat being nervous around the fountain. The best part in my eyes, however, was that Reya LOVED the fountain. She is constantly by the fountain drinking or playing in the water. As a worried dog mom, I have to say I am relieved and happy that she loves the fountain. Based on our own experience with this fountain, I am happy to give the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain an A+ rating!
Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain: Where to Purchase
Would you like to purchase this awesome fountain for your own dog or cat? You can buy the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain from Petsafe for $99.99 or $79.99 from Amazon.com (prices with Amazon fluctuate). Both places sell this fountain in either red or white, allowing you to match the fountain with your own decor. After you have tried this fountain you will never have to worry about the quality of your pet’s water again!

Janis Gibel says
I have been checking out pet fountains for my cat for several months. Even though I give him fresh water 2-3 times a day he still prefers drinking from the tub faucet. Thanks for the insightful review.
Kristi Brandon McDowell says
I think this is a wonderful product! My dog would really enjoy it I think and I would love to be able to make sure he had good quality water at all times!
Debra Womack says
Our 2 cats LOVE running water. They beg for us to turn on the sink faucet for them.
I think they would really like this fountain.
yeah, we spoil our cat-boyz. 🙂
Shelley P says
I like that this fountain isn’t very loud and the filters aren’t very expensive 🙂 I always worry about how long my dogs’ water sits. My dogs drink more when they have fresh water so this would really help with keeping them hydrated.
Jamie says
I bet my dog would love that. He doesn’t drink a lot out of his bowl, but when the hose is running – he loves it. Great review!
Rachael Bleymaier says
My elderly neutered male cat is picky about his water and we worry about how little he drinks. He loves to paw at moving water, so he would have a blast with a fountain! We are planning to get a kitten soon, too, so this would be helpful.
Angela S Benedict says
We have 2 dogs and 3 cats. I am sure that they would all love a fountain like this! I think this would be a great alternative to catching my cat drinking out of the toilet!
Lisa Turnage says
This looks like something my cats would love to have.
Jodi Bizeau says
This would be PERFECT for our dog! He ONLY likes to drink from a running tap so he will sit in front of the bathroom door until we turn on the tub faucet so he can get a drink!
Sandra L Hying McFadden says
What a great concept. I would use this for my cat…………she will not drink water out of her dish even if it is fresh. She will only drink from my kitchen faucet. She runs like a bullet to the sink when I turn my faucet on. This would solve my problem of leaving her alone and not drinking all day.
K-Squared says
I have several pets that roam my neighborhood; they would be so happy to have this awesome Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain…if I win it!! Though I have a relative that just got a new litter of kittens and she’d love this…. Moreover the water fountain would be excellent for my household, too! As this way (especially during hurricane season) I can stop worrying about how clean their water is… But they are part of my family and deserve to be treated that way!
Thank you so much for this opportunity!!

I love the way this looks! I have caught my cat drinking out of the toilet so it really made me think to get a fountain of some sort. She loves it. Mine is just a cheap plastic one. I would love to give my Persian cat this one. She would love it.
Alesha ol says
Our boys would love this, they love to swipe at the faucet when I am getting them fresh water, or doing dishes. Great information, thx so much, fingers crossed! !
Margot C says
My poor old boy of a kitty would love this. Right now I have to stand and pour water for him to drink or he just doesn’t understand that it is there.
Judy Cox says
My border collie, Lady, needs one of these. She drinks so much water~~
Dee Lafrenz says
We rescued three cats. One is still a toddler, terrible two’s. But they are fussy about anything in their water. This would be the perfect solution. It would keep their water clean. I love the fact the filters are inexpensive. The cost of the item is one thing, but I didn’t want to be stuck with another item with no ability to get filters, that was keeping me from purchasing one up til now. Thanks for the information!
Susan Robbins says
I have 7 cats and one small dog sharing drinking water and I live in the very hot desert. I have one large bowl in the kitchen for them and two tubs outside. I know the cats prefer any water that is running and it is difficult to keep them from drinking from my swimming pool or decorative pond. I think the drinking pagoda would be very attractive to them to drink from.
Tina M. Counterman says
I have 2 Huskies that would love this,my female doesn’t drink as much water as she should, most of the time she plays in it, With this Drinkwell I think it will encourage her to drink more water. My Male Husky is up in age and needs more help witheveryday things, I think this drinkwell will also be a blessing for him. Also like the fact that it has filters that are not to expensive and helps keep the water clean, there are so many gadgets out there that don’t work and are so expensive I hate to keep buying things my pets wont use. My pets are like my children and I would do anything for them to make life a little better for them. If this drinkwell works for my dogs, I might buy a couple for my parrots to see if they will use them and drink more water. Thanks for the chance to win this awesome drinkwell.
Randi Cook says
My cat would absolutely love this! I am always catching her in the bathroom in the tub waiting for our leaky faucet to drip water for her.
Sara Garcia says
The fountain looks nice, would blend in nicely with our decor. I’m sure my cat will enjoy it. I’m really liking the idea of having an indoor water feature!
Leslie Ross says
This would be perfect for our little zoo, we have 2 dogs 6 cats 2 guinea pigs and a 7 foot snake.
Denise Taylor-Dennis says
I like that this drinking fountain can hold 70 ounces of water. My doggie has a small bowl for his water and seems to be running out of water all the time.
Natalie Woodworth says
Thanks for the great review!
This product seems like something my pets will love and keep them healthy, I will sure have to think about getting it 🙂
Jan Hall says
This is the first pet water fountain that I have seen. I love that you said it is quiet. How much water does it hold? How long is the power cord?
Jill mckelvey says
My cats would love this cause one of them gets utis and they say these would
Help him drink more water
mickeyfan says
I have a cat with bladder/kidney issues. He loves to drink out of the faucet, so bet a fountain would be a hit too.
Jerry Cartwright says
I think that this is just awesome. I have a problem with my dog’s bowl wanting to grow green crap in it. Someone said to just put an old penny in it. I’ve got about $3 worth of pennies in it and it still gets green. LOL The way this circulates the water there’s no way that it could grow any kind of algae. I’d be proud to own this for my buddy, MEAT.
Natalie says
This fountain looks so elegant! My dog slobbers all over the floor with his water bowl.
Michelle Castagne says
This fountain is so cool. My dog loves water and loves to drink out of the garden hose. This woulds be a perfect fit for him.
Carolann Leibenguth says
I love it and not only is it beneficial for the dog and cat it looks great too. My cat loves to get up in the sink and will stare at us until we turn on the water so she can get a drink. My only concern is the length of the cord and if they were to get it wet. Are there any special safety features to prevent shock?
heather says
Fresh water is so very important for your animals. I would love to get one of these for our dogs they would really love it.
CL Smith says
We have 3 large dogs and 2 cats. even though we have quite a few water bowls throughout the house, our dogs aren’t very interested in drinking water. But they sure come running when we turn the hose on outside! I bet they would love this!
Rita Spratlen says
I love this and dogs especially when it is so hot outside should have nice water to drink. I am always changing the water for my 4 animals. We used to have 6 until recently. Love to have this for sure!! Thanks for sharing.
courtney gibson says
The drinkwell would be perfect for my rescue kitty. Sadly she is missing part of her lip so it is hard for her to drink out of a bowl so we leave the sink dripping for her because we have found that running water is easier for her to drink.
Mildred Floyd says
My dog became ill from water that was not fresh. I sometimes forget to change it especially if I see some in the dish. This would be so good for us especially now that we have a second dog.
Kathleen Quinlan says
My Pom loves to drink from a brook, however, she does not drink from a bowl of water, Not sure why, but I try to keep it fresh. She waits till she is so dry that if she drinks from her bowl she coughs. I think there maybe hope with this fantastic idea. The running water maybe the reason why she drinks from a brook. I would be sooooooooo happy if this cured her issue. She needs to dink more for her kidney issues. She is 8 years old. Thanks I have never heard of this one which has a filter and I love that!
Cheryl Rahkonen says
I have 2 dogs and a cat that insist on drinking from the same water bowl. Even though the cat has his own water bowl, he drinks out of the dog’s bowl. You are correct in how nasty those bowls get. I wash them every day but they look like they are never cleaned. The Pagoda would be wonderful to make sure they have clean water and then the cat can have clean water also.
Dominique Balsoma says
Even tho I live in a town my water still has iron in it, and it turns my dogs face tan. So I have been buying her Spring water by the gallon, but this would be perfect for her.
Holly Thomas says
I have had several fountains over the years but this one seems to be the most practical.
KAPP902 says
I am a huge advocate for pet fountains. I have been through half a dozen in the past 8 years. Cannot be without one now b/c my furbabies also love running water!! would love to win this particular one since it is out of my budget-range 🙂 thx for the oppty!
Brenda Saball says
Looks like a wonderful idea for both my dog and my cat
Dorothy Teel says
How nice this is it would be great and being sure that the water for my cats ( who are spoiled rotten) are happy with a lot of fresh water to drink instead of jumping into the bathtub and wanting me to turn on the water, which they do a lot. Very nice idea
Anna Johnson says
It’s large enough for my dogs to share and has two levels to make it easier for them to share! I love how it looks great and is part of the decor, not something to tuck away.
Lindsey L says
This would be great to have to keep the water moving and clean! I have a 8 year old pomeranian who’s always getting his hair in his water because it hangs down into it and I have to change it multiple times a day, so I’d love to have this!
Veronica M says
This seems like a durable fountain. I have a Yorkie and i’m always finding myself refilling her doggy dish. This will definitely resolve that issue and will keep her water supply fresh.
April Farley says
We have a little 10 lb doggie that loves to drink from a water hose. This fountain would be right up his ally! I am awfully excited about this give away!
Dana Rodriguez says
Nice review! We just adopted a dog this weekend and I think she would love this!
JLFarley says
We have a chiweenie who is really funny about his water and has a tendency to become dehydrated because of it, this product is a great idea and one we will share with our friends and many other chiweenie owners we know .
Pam H. says
I have three dogs who would really enjoy this pet fountain. Of course, they’ll have to fight over it with the cat. The cat prefers his water directly from the faucet, so he’ll really appreciate having a pet fountain to use. Thanks for the review.
Ann Cluck says
A very informative review!! The fountain sounds awesome and if I could afford it, I would definitely buy one for my pup. Thank you for sharing!!
Katt Lewis says

Tim Anderson says
I love the fact it has a filter. I am constantly changing my dogs water due to excess slobber and food particles. I wonder how they would feel about the fountain. It’s a Really cool product.

Linda Meranda says
This is something that would really come in handy for our small dog. We have hard water, so I am constantly changing it. Plus no sloppy messes. Thanks
Christine H says
This sounds great! My dogs would love this, they’re the same way with running water. My cat may enjoy it as well, he always goes to the sink and meows because he wants to drink from there and not a bowl.
Kelley K says
This would be great for my cats and dogs! I love the sleek design!!
Mitzi Fisher says
My dogs love drinking water out of the hose pipe I know they would love this. I like the idea of fresh water all day long.
Miranda Johnson says
So glad to find something like this. This would be awesome to have for our Baby Girl. I commented recently how we’re drinking spring water (as our fridge filter is bad) and we still give her tap water. We need to change to help improve her health. She has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome as do myself and the kids. Yes, our dog has the same genetic defect that we do. She’s meant for us. 🙂

I’ve always wanted to get one of these but was unsure until I read your review. I think my 5 cats and dog would absolutely love this. Keeping them hydrated in this Florida heat is important to me and I’m sure this would help.
Karen says
We have a drinkwell fountain for our cat who has had bladder stones, and it really helps him drink more, making the stones less likely (he hasn’t had any since getting the fountain). He loves it! It takes a little more cleaning than a plain bowl, but it’s totally worth it!
paula s says
I love this my dog Marley would also. She is so spoiled we love her like family. She loves running water and have to keep her away from the sink. lol
Roz says
I would love to have this fountain, after one of my cats passed with crystals in her urine it is very important to me to hydrate her sister Lucy.
lisa says
Of course fresh water tastes better than water that just sits all day. I do think that when an animal is thirsty it’ll drink.

With 4 dogs (two big, two small) and a cat I could really use this! 😉 Especially since my cat doesn’t drink enough water as it is. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
Christina V. says
I’ve been wanting one of these for my cat. He needs to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water so that he doesn’t develop crystals again. I know that he would love having a fountain with fresh water.
Helga says
I would love to try this out on my cats and dogs. It looks like it would appeal to them.
Brenda Dwyer says
I too like many others who left comments have 2 cats that barely ever drink from their water bowl..even when its totally clean & fresh, they prefer the bathroom sinks & the tub. If there is a little slight drip they would rather try to get water from the faucet than their bowls…so whoever says cats or dogs are dirty animals better think again because they are quite finicky when it comes to their cleanliness, lol. If or when I can afford one of these I would love to try it because I just know they would drink & play in it for hours Im sure..:) I will share this video with all my pet loving friends Im sure theyll <3 it too!
Rita says
I love Petsafe products! Porcelain is so much easier to clean than plastic. This would be a great addition to my home.
Dara Nix says
I LOVE this idea! Years ago back when tabletop fountains were popular, I could not keep my cats out of it. They burned up more than one motor from drinking it dry! It’s about time someone built bigger ones actually made for pets!
Liz says
We have 3 beautiful dogs (one is a special needs rescue), 1 stubborn old cat and now we just rescued a Cockatiel. This fountain would mean the world to me and my babies. I wouldn’t have to worry about them as much in this awful heat!! They are all inside animals, but LOVE to be outside in our big backyard playing. Thanks for the chance to win such a fabulous prize for our BF’s!!
Linda Meyers-Gabbard says
The fountain is nice. I have been thinking of getting one for our pets. We have 2 dogs and 5 cats that are all rescues. I think they wiuld love ut. Especially the cats. From what I have read this oen sounds awesome
Evelyn Chuter says
I have been wanting a water fountain for my cats for a long time. I foster and adopt kittens and cats. Right now I have 3 cats and 2 kittens and are the keepers. I get tired of changing their water bowls all day and night, cause they like their water fresh. Afountain would be the perfect help for me.
Melissa S says
I think my dogs would love this, there is nothing grosser than a bowl of water sitting stagnant.
Sarah Studinski says
In a house with 8 fur kids, all cats, hydration is an ongoing worry. They don’t have a strong thirst reflex. Plus I have one that lets me know she doesn’t like standing water. She pees in it :(. But running water isn’t at risk so I’m hoping we win this 🙂
Jon Miller says
What a fantastic idea. It’s not the waterfall I’ve wanted in my Zen garden but it would keep the beasties well hydrated. Bravo! Thanks for offering this useful water feature. 🙂
Lynda THOMAS says
I feel it so important to give my pets access to Chaldean drinking water at all times.
Right now they drink from a dish fed by a bottle. I love the idea. Behind your set up of continuously flowing water.

Thanks for the great giveaway. If I am lucky enough to win, no more will I have to add chicken broth to Lucky Cat’s drinking water to get him to drink, nor use a medicine dropper filled with water and slowly empty it at the back of his throat. While he was a feral cat, we would see him drinking muddy water, which he must have developed a taste for. Since we brought him inside, it has been a battle getting him to drink water that had been in his bowl longer than 10 minutes.
Deena Martin Bailey says
I love that it has running water. I have several pets that would love this!! (I would too!) 😉 Thank-you for the chance to won it!!

Sue E says
My pets’ water drinking bowl gets nasty & slimy if I don’t keep cleaning them. Both – my cat & dog drink from the same bowl (even though the cat has her own bowl). My only problem would be keeping the younger grandkids away from it.
betsy guilmette says
This is totally amazing! I have 2 large dogs and 1 cat …since our pets are our family, we should treat them with unconditional love and help them to stay happy and healthy. What a great way to increaase the water consumption!!

Both of our cats love drinking water from a running faucet. They would love this fountain and I’m guessing our dog would too!
Lisa Bowles says
My two amazing dogs,Toby & Willow, and I live in Southern Louisiana where the summers are dreadfully HOT. It’s so important when the dogs & I are outside playing our regular 45 min. “Fetchapaloozza” race & fetch game to keep the dogs bowls constantly filled with cool, fresh water to keep them hydrated.
We would absolutely LOVE to own one of the Drinkwell Pagoda Fountains!! Honestly, when we play now, I’m hauling 2 lrg. water bowls back & forth at least 6 times for us to get through our 45min. “Fetchapaloozza” session!
If we had one of the Fountains, it would be so wonderful for both the dogs & Me! :). We would be able to relax and simply have a blast playing our game together instead of constantly worrying if the dogs are in need of more water because the fountain is taking care that. Perfect:)

I am always concerned with my dog having clean water available. Thanks so much for your review! This product sounds awesome 🙂
Kimberly Hilbert says
No one in our house has a ‘drinking problem’. You would think the way our cats drink they’ve just come from the desert. They love water and I’m sure Pippi, our Aussie would love this as well.
Lorena Keech says
Our pets aren’t particularly picky about their water. But they do love running water and this is really attractive. So I wouldn’t mind having it out in clear view.

I would love to have my two girls try this at home. I am also worried about them not getting enough water intake at times, especially during these hot summer months. Thanks for the thorough review!

I have a lab that is 7 years old and I rescued her at the age if three! She’d be so happy to to get this because she deserves it. She has become such an important part of our family. Thank you for the chance to win!!
Lori Thomas says
I like that it always refreshes the water. Love that its easy to set up.
Raine says
This looks like a great fountain, I love the shape because I have 5 cats so they can all have a spot. We have terrible water quality here plus it’s hard with 5 to monitor their drinking. I definitely need to get one for their health! Thanks for all the details and pics.
Lisa F. says
This sounds like a great product. I have five dogs and they go through the water pretty fast, and some are more drooly than others. This would keep the water cleaner for the more picky ones. Thanks for the review!
Linda Peavy says
I think this is a great idea. Your review helped make up my mind! Thanks so much!
Jill Myrick says
I have never seen a pet fountain such as this.
But I honestly think that our dogs Marley and Colby and our kitties Moses and Scooter would love this. And I wouldn’t have to worry about them getting enough water.

I really love the fountain for your dog. I would love to win this. It is an awesome product.
Rachel says
I am constantly worried that my cats are not drinking enough water because the water level in their bowl doesn’t decrease much during the day. A fountain like this would be great for them, especially since they seem drawn to dripping faucets.
Chantal J says
This is so neat! I know my dogs (and cats) would love this! Bad thing is that I’m sure my 2 year old will as well!!
Marianna says
I have 3 Labs that drink a TON of water each day. They all try to drink at once when fresh water is put down….out of the same bowl, even though I put out 3 bowls and change them frequently. I know they would love to have pure filtered water at their toe-tips.
RICHARD HICKS says
I like this fountain a lot and its design. the sight and sound of running water encourages pets to drink plenty of water.

Peggy Rispo Boess says
I need one of these my cat will not drink from a bowl. He will only drink from the faucet in the bathtub.
Angela A Simmons says
How cute is that. Our fur family is just as important as we are, I’m glad they came up with a cool way to help purify our animals water. I like the fact that it encourages them to drink more water as well and I love the fact that it’s affordable and not over priced. I will be picking one up for my little angels. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
Pam Fiore says
This would be great, and I’m talking in two ways. One for the initial purpose, to supply drinking water. And, the best part to watch my two cats go nuts with this!!!
