As many of you know, I love making food from different parts of the world. Maybe I’m crazy but I think it’s fun trying new things. Lately I have been in a Mexican and Latin American food type mood. I have been looking at different cookbooks, and trying to figure out what sort of yummy treats I should make. A few of these have discussed eating dishes alongside fried plantains. To make things even more confusing, they talk about using a tostonera. If you are anything like me, after coming across this word you probably went to look up what exactly a ‘tostonera’ IS. After doing some research online (thank you Google!), I found out it was a wood or bamboo press used to make a sort of banana pancake. Curious, I decided I wanted to try making these myself! While looking into buying one of these tools, I was approached by IMUSA, asking if I would like to review their Bamboo Tostonera. To say the least, I was super excited and couldn’t wait for it to arrive!
IMUSA Bamboo Tostonera: What is It?
Looking for a way to make perfectly pressed tostones (fried plantains)? If so, we think you will love the IMUSA Bamboo Tostonera. Unlike similar tools, it presses tostones to the right thickness and shape, making them perfect for cooking. With this easy to use tool made from bamboo, it is eco-friendly and perfect for anyone who loves Hispanic cuisine.
IMUSA Bamboo Tostonera: Overall
I have to say that I am overall very impressed with this tostonera. It is durable, easy to use, and looks great. It’s really the type of tool you don’t mind hanging up or displaying when it’s not in use. As well, it makes absolutely huge fried plantains. Based on her own experience with this products, we are happy to give the IMUSA Bamboo Tostonera an A rating!
