If there is one thing I have learned in this economy, it is that you can never truly predict the actions of your employer. I graduated college during a time when many school systems were laying off teachers rather than hiring, so I had a very pessimistic view of the job market. Then, my husband was laid off from a job he loved with IBM, leaving us in a very uncomfortable situation. While we both ended up making our own companies out of it, it left with us re-evaluating what we thought of the world and building a plan for the future. Once we had our savings built up again, we started investing in the stock market, which has become one of the best decisions we ever made, having doubled what we originally invested in a relatively short time. With how great our experience has been, it isn’t too surprising that we have looked at investing more, and been researching more into the stock market. As we were looking into information, we were actually approached to review a new financial book that caught our interest – The Part-Time Trader: Trading Stocks as a Part-Time Venture. After reading some about the book online, I couldn’t wait to open it once it arrived at our door!
The Part-Time Trader : What is It
Looking for a book to teach you the ins and outs of trading full-time (or part-time) without being too complicated? If so, The Part-Time Trader: Trading Stocks as a Part-Time Venture is the perfect book for you. In this book, Ryan Mallory goes into his own experience of leaving the corporate world and becoming a full time trader. His goal throughout the book is teaching the average person how to take advantage of the stock market to have financial independence and how to start building that dream while still working your day job!
The Part-Time Trader: My Thoughts
Really, this book is one thing plain and simple – a book for trading stocks for the average Joe. Ryan Mallory takes a very down to earth approach with teaching people about stocks, how to trade, and more importantly, how to become a part time trader during the day while still keeping your day job. In the book, he gives advice on how to follow your dream of becoming more independent, while making sure you still keep your day job. While some of this advice I admit felt like it could be sneaky (such as trading on company time), there are large parts of the book that are filled with helpful information that makes trading easy for everyone. If you follow the advice on trading during company time, just make sure you aren’t breaking any company rules that could risk your main job! With its very simple layout, I consider it a must for anyone who is new to trading stocks or wants to step up their game without taking too many risks. Based on my own opinion of The Part-Time Trader: Trading Stocks as a Part-Time Venture, I am happy to give it a A- rating.
