With today's difficult job market, it isn't surprising that many people are looking for ways to get an edge on their competition. While a bachelor's degree obviously can get you the first interview, it sometimes won't get you the offer, especially if you don't have any previous experience in your field. Unless you are in a specialty field and have years of experience, it may be worth investing the time and money in getting certifications for your field, proving that you have the necessary skills to do the job. This is especially true if you are in the IT field. You may be surprised just how far it will get you, especially with the eye opening stats featured in the infographic below.
