Like just about everyone else, I have those days where I go searching on the internet for answers to questions that are bugging me. For example, we have been having some housebreaking issues with Reya. Coming from a family that has always had dogs, it is odd running into a situation that my mom can’t answer and just stumps her. At that point, you know you are in trouble. Just when we were about to call an obedience trainer, I was asked to review Pearl.com – a service that has experts answer just about any question you think of for a small fee. Curious, I agreed to review it and see if they could answer our questions.

Pearl.com: Quality

One of the things that really impressed me about Pearl.com was the quality of the answer I received from the expert. I was expecting something closer to Yahoo Answer, meaning sometimes you will get something useful, other times you will get something so off the wall that you really can’t trust (or possibly understand) the advice. The pet trainer who answered my question about Reya didn’t just answer my question, she practically wrote me a book giving me detailed advice and being as thorough as possible while she was helping me. In all honesty, I was stunned at the amount of information she gave me and how within an hour she gave us the most likely answers to the ‘potty’ issues we have been having with Reya. For me, this was worth every penny since it gave us the direction we needed to further our housebreaking.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pearl.com: Overall

Really, I don’t think I can recommend Pearl.com enough. Their pet expert answered questions that I thought could easily become not only a vet trip, but hiring a specialty trainer. Overall, the advice would have equated to over $100 in training that would have taken weeks, which is silly since most of it could have easily been done by my husband or myself since we are home every day with Reya. Really, if you have a question that requires a lawyer, doctor, vet, trainer, or even a mechanic, I highly recommend giving this service. My only complaint is that I wish their pricing system wasn’t so confusing and was more clearly labeled on their website. I think this keeps people from using the service, which is a real shame with the quality of the advice available 24/7 on this site. Based on my own opinion of the service, I am happy to give it an A- rating!

    • Thanks Rhonda! I am very picky about what I review (I research before I say yes), but I try giving honest reviews. To me, a review is not only to help others learn about a service, but tell the company how they can improve. I know when I read a review, I want it to answer my questions, not make me ask more 😉

  9. I have never heard of pearl until just now but it sounds like a good thing

    the home repair pros would be nice i may have to check them out 

    maybe in the long run i can save some money doing things myself.

    I do agree with you that their pricing system needs to be over hauled it is a

    little confusing it would be nice if they just charged one price.

     

  10. Yes this does sound like a good usable service for people. Getting an answer with out having to wait for days like for an appointment. . I hate when you ask a question and for the cost you dont really get the help you wanted . Pearl.com sounds  like they give a answer that actually will help you . Based on the question is another good thing – if its a more simple problem we dont have to expect to pay a larger fee. thanks for the info

  13. This is all new to me, but sounds like a great service, Could have really used this a few years ago when I needed guestions about going through the steps of a divoce for my one son.

  14. I have never heard of Pearl.com. I tried a similar service when our dishwasher broke so that we could DIY fix it, but it was not very helpful. I think the premise is a great one, so I would be eager to try another service. I am all for making myself more autonomous and saving money!

  20. It sounds like a unique website. I'm sure if I would pay to ask a question if it was to personal or on certain subjects. I would like to find out more about it 1st.
